network question

I have a 4 port router that I would like to add additional machines to, beyond the 4. Do i do this with a switch? If so any brands that are recommended, quite the price differences out there.

Get a consumer grade Linksys/Netgear/CompUSA branded whatever switch with the number of ports that you like (5 or 8 are the cheapest of course). Those all have the auto-uplink sensing ports now so you just have to plug it in to your router.
