Quick! Everybody start shouting "Quagmire(tm)" really loud to confuse the great unwashed masses!

For undisclosed reasons, I checked out some quotes from the movie Bring It On earlier today, and will take the opportunity to post one here (read in cheerleader tempo):
I'm sexy! I'm cute! I'm popular to boot!
I'm bitchin! Great hair! The boys all love to stare!
I'm wanted, I'm hot, I'm everything you're not!
I'm pretty, I'm cool, I dominate the school!
Who am I? Just guess! Guys wanna touch my chest!
I'm rockin', I smile, and many think I'm vile.
I'm flyin', I jump, you can look, but don't you hump. Whoo!
I'm major! I roar! I swear I'm not a whore!
We cheer and we lead! We act like we're on speed!
Hate us 'cause we're beautiful, but we don't like you either!
We're cheerleaders! We are cheerleaders!

The Asian cheerleader to Kirsten's left is the actress who played Max's eventual love interest in "Rushmore."

Now back to your regularly scheduled quagmire.

Good god, Morris, are you insane? Unless I missed some other love interest for Max, not only are you wrong, but apparently a bit blind as well. I don't see how anyone can mistake that gaunt scary looking woman for the lovely Sara Tanaka, seen most recently -- albeit briefly -- in Old School:

You went head to head with me on Kosovo and look what happened there. Do you really want some more of this? :D

It's actually your choice of Gabrille Union, Tsianina Joelson, Rini Bell, Shamari Fears, Natina Reed, Lindsay Sloane, Bianca Kajilich, or some other improbably named actress.

Tom Chick

Umm, you just linked to a page that proved Sara Tanaka, who played Margret Yang in Rushmore, wasn't in Bring It On. Nice work.

BTW, if you need help with IMDB, I'd be happy to show you how to do a search that shows common actors from Bring It On and Rushmore. Hint: there aren't any.

And my point still stands about Kosovo. Plus I know how to spell bellwether. Your move, Morris. :)

My wife has watched Bring it On one hundred times. I have become an Eliza fan myself:

She was the girl in The Royal Tennenbaums, too. That's her second from the left:

BtW, Tommy Franks decided there had not been enough brought and decided to echo the president's sentiments today....as he retired (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=564&ncid=564&e=1&u=/nm/20030707/ts_nm/iraq_franks_dc_2)!!!

Okay, Tyler, now you're just baiting me by deliberately spreading Morris-style misinformation about the women in Wes Anderson's movies.

As for the Tommy Franks/George Bush Jr. sassy movie comments, what I'd really like to hear is, "We're streaking!".

That's it, I quit! Bring it on! I quit!

Must be related to Cleve.

No, I am pretty sure you are wrong. Tommy Franks and George Bush are the same person. Just like Daniel said.

It definitely isn't Tsianina Joelson, who has a tendency to look like this (http://mikes-images.com/eps/pov/pages/pov_mq_355cd.htm).

Bitchin' picture, Anders. However, the name of the actress from Bring It On is officially moot. Whoever she is, she's clearly not, as Daniel said, "the actress who played Max's eventual love interest in "Rushmore." (http://us.imdb.com/Name?Tanaka,+Sara)".

Although, this guy from Bring It On
http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/85/95/22m.jpg
did play Luke Wilson's character in Bottle Rocket.

Dan Morris, can you get in here and clear this up for us? Dustin Hoffman was in Rushmore as the guy who played Max, right?

Isn't that Bjork on the far right? And who is Demi Moore dancing with there? I think that's Gene Hackman from The Royal Tenenbaum.

I'll clear it up for you. With painfully little eye for asburdity, you're all enjoying a self-congratulatory "smear the dummy" thread, completely failing to appreciate my linking the IMDB page that openly contradicts my absurd jokey comment that Sara Tanaka was in "Bring It On."

Sorry about the trouble; as any comedian will mopily explain, the gag is clearly a failure if it has to be explained. You all seem to be having so much fun with it anyway, I figured an explanation would be something of a party-pooper.

On the plus side, I've now discovered a simple and effective way to derail all of your pseudo-passionate threads about international affairs. It's obvious you're all much more interested (and, it goes without saying, much more knowledgeable) in playing IMDB Gotcha than you are in political debate.

heh, "smear the dummy." You're a riot, Dan. I should be paying you for this stuff.

The comment about "It's actually..." would appear to be conclusive as to Morris' intent.

If I'm missing some injoke about missing the point, I apologize, but I really don't get it.

Seriously. What is wrong with you folks? The guy clearly says in his second post that he knows Sara Tanaka isn't in Bring It On (although maybe he was genuinely mistaken in his first post). I realize Daniel is a lightning rod for criticism because his views are unpopular and his style is arrogant, but give me a break. You're dog-piling (again) on someone for something they didn't even do, and then desperately trying to pretend that he's the idiot, not you. Nice work all around.

Rywill, are you saying Dustin Hoffman wasn't in rushmore?

Tyjenks

Just for my 2 cents (which you have all been waiting for) on the whole off topic, starring/not starring debate, I agree with Daniel in most of his political posts so I was not attempting to pile onto the whipping boy of the month.

-Chick always seems to find himself in the middle of movie confusion with someone or other here and I just wanted to be cool and join in.
-I am constantly correcting everyone I know regarding, "Hey, that's the guy/girl from [such and such]" Mostly I have to correct them because all of those people are stupid, stupid family members and friends who have shitty, shitty memories.
-Making outlandish comparisons and posting IMDB pix regarding hyperbolic claims are fun.

Chet - I am pretty sure that was not Dustin Hoffman. The guy from Rushmore was in The Graduate, however, and he says he often gets confused with Dustin and is flattered.

Rywill

No, no--the photographic evidence of that is indisputable. (Note to everyone: despite the lack of a "wink" emoticon, I am joking.)

Rywill, thanks for taking the high road on this very important matter.
