I'm including the PvP servers, but not the Oceanic servers.

Server names don't matter much, but playing with good people is irreplaceable.

My guess is that the name that sounds wimpiest will prove to be the best server as it won't be overrun by 13 year olds. So far, Anu is winning the wanderers/gt/oo poll.

Yeah, we had a few people from Qt3 playing with us there - it was a good time while it lasted, but high energy/drama. I was playing as Baerd at the time, if you happen to remember the name.

The Wanderers have finished voting and Anu won. We'd welcome anyone from Qt3 who wants to join us for AoC, or if you'd prefer an official Qt3 guild, we'd welcome an alliance if you choose to play on Anu. It's looking like we have 40-50 people signed up so far, and the forum effect will undoubtedly bring some more in. I'm very hopeful that we'll settle in after a month or two with 30-40 active players and commence further recruiting to ensure that we have 48 for the end-game PvP.

Same here. If there is one thing I learned from WoW, it's that the RP servers tend to have a higher maturity level. Although who knows if this will accurately translate into AoC which is already an M rated game, but still, I'm not taking my chances.

Except that FFA PvP doesn't usually attract the high maturity types, even if it is RP. Funcom has not announced whether or not there will be a PvE RP server at launch.

It doesn't look like I'll be joining you guys after all in early access, as I can't download with speeds of over 56k, and trying to download this has effectively killed my VOIP phone. I'm like 57% done after two days of downloading. I have turned off all firewalls and still absolutely horrible download speeds. So at least you'll have a decision by the time I get my DVD's :)

Is this a fact or just something that seems hypothetically logical? I've never noticed a difference and I've played on both across multiple MMOs.

Reading through the posts, that looks like by far the popular choice. I have no real need to play on Zug over Anu, so that's fine.

I'm fine with Anu, if that's where folks want to play. It'd be cool if we can get an actual Qt3 guild going, though. Also, that poll is useless since you can't see who wants to play where (it needed to be a public poll--sorry Lorini... ;)

Well it hasn't been scientifically tested if thats what your asking. However, when I first started playing on WoW I started on a PVP server and played that for a while. Eventually I just could't stand it anymore and moved over to Shadow Council which was a fairly popular RP server at the time.... HUGE difference in the maturity of the players.

Now, naturally, it wasn't completely free from idiots and immature people but there was a noticeable lack of them. I am hoping that AoC carries on that trend... also I don't mind a bit of RP here and there. :)

Yah, that reminds me of Wow at release time, when all the douchebag guilds went to pvp servers with names like Bleeding Hollow and Skullcrusher (or was it Spinebreaker? One of those is a release server and the other isn't, but yeah ...)

It looks like Wiccana will be the unofficial PVE-RP server. We may want to consider picking that one, we've had good luck with unofficial PVE-RP servers in the past.
