Someone here mentioned a deal where you buy the Xbox and Halo and a 2nd controller and get $50 off the whole thing. Is this still going on and who is offering it?

On second thought, maybe not. It was in effect last week, but the offer may have expired by now. I know my local EB had $50 off last week as well. Haven't been there this week though.
