Has anyone played this (http://www.zombiemaster.org/)? It sounds brilliant. I'm downloading now but I have to go to bed and work tomorrow, so I won't be able to try it out for a while...

Sounds interesting! If we can get critical mass of Qt3ers, I'd love to try giving it a spin.

Looks like fun. Downloading now.

Gameplay video from Zombie Master perspective. I recommend turning off the music. ZM can pull some nasty tricks.

I play it. It's pretty cool, but not always a great experience ala any mod. It's a nice change from the typical zombie game, and has a bit of a Dungeon Master touch to it.

So, what's the rule on the Master clicking the spawn orbs? Does it work on some sort of point-buy system?

The one thing I really didn't like in the YouTube video (besides the limbless, floating zombie children) was that it looked like the ZM could spawn at an orb when a human was right there, which just seems wrong. It would make more sense if you could only spawn at orbs that were out of LoS.

Last time this was mentioned here it was a real mess.

Exactly. Different zombies and various traps have a cost associated with them.

The one thing I really didn't like in the YouTube video (besides the limbless, floating zombie children) was that it looked like the ZM could spawn at an orb when a human was right there, which just seems wrong. It would make more sense if you could only spawn at orbs that were out of LoS.
Spawn points are generally obvious to the players during a match and quickly learned anyhow. Good players will often place explosive barrels at a spawn location in the hopes of discouraging a ZM from spawning there. If the humans are expecting it, a spawn of zombies in front of them will usually result in a bunch of dead zombies. Also, humans often split up into groups, sometimes all over a map. A line of sight rule would be too much of a hindrance to ZMs.

ZMs also have a costly option to spawn a few zombies in any location.

I tried it last year: seemed promising, but half-baked; also a dearth of servers at the time. Never got the chance to try being the Zombie Master.

Now, if this were a sequel to Ghost Master.... such a flawed game with moments of genius.
