WTF? When did this come out?
It's 400 points, about 90 minutes long, and introduces new planet and a new race (which was in the novel).
Soooo...did anyone grab it?

Came out just the other day! And no. Smash Bros has kept me from wanting to level a new character just to see some new content.
I'd like to hear if it's good stuff, though.

If it's just like a big sidequest in those same bunkers, then I'll probably ignore it until my next playthrough. If it's a new custom location, and feels more like a main quest planet off by itself with dialogue, cinematics, and a decent little story, I'm totally in.

Three of those same bunkers, but each decked out differently and with a different mix of enemies. One all-new indoor location that could double nicely as a deathmatch arena. New cinematics and reasonable dialogue. Oh, and many, many turrets. I enjoyed it, but YMMV.

I'n that case I'll wait until I'm done with Oblivion, which I just started. This is locked at 400 points right? I don't have to worry about paying 800 points for it 3 months from now?

I've got to say that the idea of another side mission has zero appeal to me.
They could have stepped up on this. Maybe made single planet adventure with a new character and some special guest appearances, while giving us some hints for future content.
I already know the story of "The Citadel Massacre", and nothing here feels like it's going to add anything to that.

You also have to start over, you can't like, continue your game if you've beaten it (though you could go back to an old save and loose some of the progress you've made, which is an odd choice for an RPG)

what do you really suggest otherwise? It'd be tough to make something you could get to after the game is over, and that would be accessible for people who haven't beaten the game yet.

A continue option that launches your character in the normandy in the menu? Not stopping your game after you 'win', like oblvion etc..? Especially for a game that could use DLC to build up to the sequels plot (which would push people to buy it to get the in between story stuff, like the heroes tv show had those comics that added to the story)

I thought I read you didn't have to start the game over (unless you've finished, of course).
In my second playthrough w/ a character, I played up to the initial visit to the Citidel. The new content takes place after that, so I believe I can continue that game and just pick up the new content.

that's the same thing moore said, however he wasn't happy about it.

That kind of sucks. I should have expected that. A lot of people didn't like the way everything leveled up with you in Oblivion, but it made the expansions work perfectly.

Well, its not like there is no middle ground, have the EXPANSION, check for level when you start to get into it, but have the regular base game not autolevel everywhere.

IIRC, it inserts a new world on the Galactic Map: you can access it any time between when you leave the Citadel for the first time and when you hit the end-game section. So if you're in the middle of a game - or you have an earlier save - you don't have to start over to visit it.

I posted my comments in another thread after somebody asked: http://www.quartertothree.com/game-talk/showpost.php?p=1277523&postcount=28
Overall I liked it. It was a nice addition to the story line of the game. Need to play through it again as a renegade though.
