So I'm ignoring comercials during a football game or something this weekend and the phrase catches my ear... "BFD". I'm thinking... 'did the voice-over guy for this ad actually say what I think he said' and then he said it again and this time I heard the explanation about how Dominos pizza was offering a "Big Fantastic Deal" and that they were calling it the "BFD".
How does this get past Dominos own or contracted advertising experts or all they all just laughing up their sleeves? I casually asked my wife (who is, for all intents and purposes, an internet or text-message newb) what 'BFD' stands for and she correctly replied 'big fucking deal'.
Kind of reminds me of the time when Reebok was running the (hilarious) Terry Tate: Office Linebacker ads. The 'wink' there was how the President/CEO type was named Felcher and I think the company was even Felcher and Sons. Now felch (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=felch) was not and is not as ubiquitous as BFD but I am sure there were others as amused by that as I was.
