I know that Second Life doesn't appeal very widely in this community, but there are 2 cool events worth mentioning. You could be hunting for clues left by a murderer or eating the brains of uninfected people in world. Good wholesome fun. :)

As for the brain eating part, check out the I am Legend (http://www.gridgrind.com/?p=203) write-up. I visited it and it's very slickly done.

Additional note: 416 regions! Lots of money.

I caught the trailer on TV, and well, um...yeah. They managed to make Second Life worse. What the fuck is with the guy in the VR room? Where's all the gay furries we all know fill SL? Oh, and I guess pedophiles too, and virtual prostitutes.

But the whole "Die in the game and you die in real life!" aspect of a game that doesn't even have death...yeesh.

I'll stick with South Park in Warcraft, thanks. Not that I like CSI(especially after being forced to play 3 dimensions of murder) or Second Life to begin with, in all fairness.

Yes. That made me smile. How to make a virtual world feel dangerous and exciting. Never mind that it's completely illogical. :)

As for all the gay furries that fill SL, hey, whatever stereotype works for you. :)

Loved that episode too.

I'm still going to go look around the CSI islands. Electric Sheep is also releasing a more user friendly Second Life client to go with the show. Or supposedly so. Might save the potential newcomers from dying of shock at the clunky UI.

I've never watched this show, or played Second Life, but the trailer was hilarious. It even had the hoary old "LOG OFF NOW!" line. Excellent.

I fully expect to see some animated gifs of that line from the trailer showing up in threads any minute now.

You mean the Linden Labs hype and PR hasn't reached everywhere on earth? I edited the first post to change SL to Second Life. Apologies for the confusion.

Oh man, what a pile of ass that was. I hope whatever drama occurs from people getting griefed in the CSI area is funnier than that.
