If I look at her from out of the corner of my eye, I can make her change direction, which is actually a little freaky to see.
Not sure what that says about my brain.

I have a really hard time seeing her going any way but clockwise, though eventually I can manage counter clockwise until I blink or refocus, and then it's back to clockwise. This came up on another forum, and some people were being thrown by the shadow and the up and down motion, so I took all that out as best I could, in case it helps anyone:

Ha, I can only see a clockwise motion, but based on the descriptions in that article I should really see the ant-clockwise.

I'm able to reverse the direction I perceive her going in by sheer force of will.
I initially saw her going counterclockwise, but I see her going clockwise initially in WS's graphic.

I can sometimes see her flip flop like a pingpong ball without making her do full revolutions.
It's hard to keep her in 2d, though.

I just keep looking at her breasts, wondering if I'm seeing nipples or just imagining them. I don't care which way she spins. I want more light!

After I figured out the trick, i can make her spin both ways..what's more disturbing..is that someone bothered to put pixel nipples on it.

Interesting. Because it's a mirror image shadow thing, the direction you see her spinning depends on which leg you think is raised.
The peripheral vision thing works because you can see the movement without making a shape assignment.

First counter-clockwise, then I was able to make her change directions a couple times. And I also see nipples.

I can cover up her legs and still make her go both directions..so i dont think that's it.

The trick is to decide if you're looking at the top or the bottom of her standing foot.

Saw it clockwise mostly, which makes sense considering the right brain statements. However if I focus hard on just her lower foot I can pretend it's going the opposite way change the spin direction.
Very cool visual effect btw.

That just blew my mind.

It was only going clockwise for me until I scrolled down the page for a bit so that I could only see it from the waist down. Then I was able to perceive it as spinning counter-clockwise.

I can't do anything except see her going clockwise, no matter how hard I try. And I'm supposed to be left-brained.

Honestly, in order to perceive her spinning counter-clockwise means you have to imagine her in a more unbalanced jump or spin, like that of a figure skater. Clockwise looks like a more natural ballet balance. I say the test is junk.

She is automatically spinning counterclockwise, what are you talking about caesar?! You looking through a mirror? Its obvious she is spinning counter clockwise.

For me it was clockwise first, and then she suddenly switched to counterclockwise, with no particular effort on my part.
I think I'm pretty right-left brain balanced.
I am very left brain, and I only see clockwise. If I focus on her legs, it looks like she is dangerously unbalanced, but if I shift up that effect goes away.

It took me like half an hour to make myself see her spinning to her left (counter-clockwise). I used her hand, and forced myself to see it in front of her when I thought it was behind, and vice versa. This is the first illusion I've ever seen that is sticky in both states, I find it very hard to switch them.
Very cool.

I thought the whole left-brain right-brain dichotomy was pretty much debunked? That said, I can see it spinning clockwise, but not counter clockwise. For a short time it switched when I squinted but can't repeat it.
Edit: By focusing on her bottom foot I can make her swing back and forth between clockwise/counter clockwise, but not make the full counter clockwise turn... ugh.
Edit: Yay, finally got the full counter clockwise turns on the original image (non-green), however... I have to squint until it just switches. I can then stop squinting and it turns counter clockwise until I blink. Once I blink it's back to clockwise every time. : / Oh well.

I can see both, but it is hard for me to get her to turn clockwise.

Well, I only see counter-clockwise right now. However, I know intellectually that a 2D projection "spinning" like that without depth cues can in fact be viewed as rotating in either direction.
It's much easier to switch your view of the spin with a wireframe cube.

The media will catch up in a few decades.
Neat visual effect though. I see both directions, both concentrating and sometimes when my eyes are elsewhere. Sometimes it takes a while to flip over though.

You guys are having a laugh, right? This is some elaborate hoax like those mosaics where you're supposed to squint to see a unicorn, right? I'm not falling for it!

I can see it in both directions.
For some reason the best way for me to "flip" is to concentrate on the shadow of her feet, below the actual model.

I got her to spin CCW once, and that was like 2 months ago, the first time I saw this. Ever since then, every time I've seen it, she just spins clockwise, forever.

Aha! From another forum:
Click and hold the mouse on the woman to freeze the pic. Now perceive which direction you want her to go by focusing on her outstretched arm. Release the mouse button and see if it works.

What a great game! ^^
I've mastered switching her direction but only if a blink, cross my eyes a bit or look away. But i I've got to figure out a way how to do it without blinking to beat this level. I think if i mentally focus on switching her legs....
I'm also trying to get the time between switching down as low as possible. For some reason getting it beneath about 5 seconds is kind of hard; i think she needs to rotate a couple times before i can switch.
However, just out of interest, i see her going clockwise "naturally".
[edit2]: Aha! A breakthrough! I can rotate the original picture much more easily. I can get her to oscillate between both states and then flip her which ever way i want her to go. And without blinking!
Ok, next level.

Goddamn it there is no freaking way in the world she's going counter-clockwise. She's not even rendered in an orthogonal projection, she's got perspective, you can see the outstretched foot get bigger as it rotates in FRONT, do you bastards hear me, IN FRONT!!!!!! I can't see her in 2D no matter WHAT I do.
arrgghghghl perhaps I'd better get drunk too.

The foot still rotates in front if you see her going counter-clockwise. Which I do.

I see it both ways, but initially it was clockwise.

Clockwise at first, but a pretty easy switch if I look at it side-on. Fascinating :)
