Came across these for the first time at my local retailer while trying to avoid my current peanut butter fix (they were on a special endcap). Promotion on the bag says they are "collectors edition" and have a drawing of Elvis on it. Apparently some sort of anniversary of his death deal playing on his famous love of grilled peanut butter and banana sandwiches.

Anyway, these aren't bad at all. Kind of like a peanut butter and banana creme pie flavor. Only saw them in bags of the minis.

The actual sandwich is absolutely worth the minimal effort. Make it with some Hawaiian bread, spray a little canola on both sides, throw it in a pan.

I just threw up a little in my brain.

A toaster oven to make fried PB&B sandwiches? What are you, some kind of health nut? Of course, if you're a billionaire with no brains, you could fly to Memphis and pay something like $7-10 for a mediocre version of the sandwich in one of those grubby little shops next to Graceland.

The Reese's Cups sound good, though, and the collectability factor is nothing to sneeze at. I made a small fortune from speculating on the Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Collectible KFC Bucket market.

Someone in flavor creation read up on Elvis during the anniversary.

That sounds about right, and Priscilla was all too happy to oblige!

Well, I assume she was happy... It's impossible to discern any expression from her face these days.

So we've basically made a mass market food linked with one of the symbols of fat and general bad health in American society. Sweet. And Banananaie.
