I don't know if it's huge, it's a widescreen (22"?) LCD. Most games are fine on it at that distance, but some text-heavy stuff like Dwarf Fortress or that Incursion Roguelike, forget it.

I do lean closer when playing games that need a little more twitch, but when browsing the web or playing lower key strategy games, I like to kick back in my Aeron.

I'd still say that 22" is quite... large. Bigger than average.

When I'm sitting at my home machine (19" Dell CRT), I can reach my arm out full extension and just barely touch the screen. So, it's probably 2.5' away from my face.
