I'm not a Yankees fan so I've never heard any of his broadcasts but I loved the Seinfeld keychain episode, it's one of my favorites. RIP Phil.

I'll always remember him from "The Money Store" TV ads.

David Halberstam makes it pretty clear in "Summer of '49" that the Yankee dynasty wouldn't have been what it was without Rizzuto. Everyone knows how great DiMaggio was, but Rizzuto was maybe one of the most "baseball smart" players in the history of the game.
At 89, he was the oldest living Hall of Famer.

That's kind of suprising, I'd think that athletes (at least before the steroid) age would be a little healthier than normal and that many would live to be 90+.

Living in the rat race smoking rat weed
You reap what you sow when you plant the seed
Bum cheese on rye with ham and prosciutto
Got more Louie than Phil Rizzuto
