Halo 3 4 player online co-op

Well it's official now, Halo 3 will support 4 players in co-op over live or system link. It's for the entire campaign, you can start from any of your saved checkpoints. The only downer is it's not dynamic join like Gears of War.

Should be rather cool, especially when you factor in you can save replays of your games.

I still maintain Halo's co-op campaign mode is the only truly great aspect to the game. Now it's online. That's pretty hot.

Plus, its the only game I know that'll allow 2 player Split-screen to go online and play Co-op with other people that way. Brilliant!

Bungie's post says "up to four player co-op." I hope that means it will work with two or three players. My brother, sister and I play online together, and I don't want to have to recruit my wife to play the fourth character; she hates Halo.

Simply select Campaign, choose your network (Xbox Live or System Link) and invite your friends to join you, or they can simply join your session once it’s set up and in a lobby (but they cannot join a game once it’s in-progress). They will pop into your lobby instantly, and when you have all the players you need (anywhere from one to four) you can begin the game from the beginning – or from any of your saved checkpoints.

As long as you've got more than one person, its Co-Op.

God I can't wait. I like how all the other people are Elites, since no other Spartans have been featured in the game, and Elites are the closest thing to resembling the masterchief.

Yes, the same as Halo 1 and 2. But this time, the two of you can be joined by one or two others over System Link or Xbox Live.

Two player co-op was all there was in Halo 2, and it didn't work over live (not sure about system link).

And yeah, this FUCKING ROCKS. Two-player co-op Gears of War isn't shit compared to what four-player co-op Halo 3 will be. Who's up for it??????

They only mentioned it at first to clarify because the EGM which that news came from was leaked. That was written at least a month ago. I don't think that was any planned cleverness. If anything, the cleverness would've been announcing this now, right as that EGM is hitting the shelves.
