Anyone pick this up? I got it a couple of days ago and it's proving very addictive. Anyone who liked Puzzle Quest is going to dig this, I think. There are no metagame fripperies, but it feels like the game's skill ceiling is much higher.
The game also has full online multiplayer, via both player matching and friend codes. The friend code mode features full voice chat too, which I'm itching to try.
To that end: post your friend codes here, people.

I didn't like Puzzle Quest because I'm a bit tired of the "match 3" genre, but PPL does feel more like test of skill than perseverance. There's many gameplay modes, but I feel like the game doesn't do a great job of getting you into the game and showing you what else you can do. (At GDC the harmonix folks presented this as giving players "a way in" and "a way up". I don't think PPL does a good job in either direction.) I don't like that there is a single high score slot.
Enough griping! I want to play online:

I got the UK version of Picross thinking it would never come to the US, only for it to be announced the day after I purchased it. (doh!) It's coming out in the US July 30th. I LOVE Picross, Planet Puzzle League is quite good.

I don't really see how you can compare it to Puzzle Quest. I mean, they both could be described as puzzle games, but the similarities end there pretty much. Puzzle Quest is rather shallow for a puzzle game and almost completely based on luck, while PPL is comparitively pretty deep and seems to have a decent learning curve.
PPL seems like a pretty good game, but I haven't had a lot of time to play it. I've enjoyed the puzzle mode part of it more than I do for most games in the genre, but the main game is going to take some getting used to. I haven't tried the online component yet.
Tetris Attack somehow has the unique ability to turn its fans into raving zombie lunatics. I guess I expected greatness after years of swimming in their ocean of drool, but now that the mystery is unveiled, it's not really taking.
There is so much focus on foresight and planning, that I get that same crooked feeling I do when playing an online RTS. Instant gratification means failure, and sifting blocks around to line up winning uber-chains is mentally exhausting in the same pulse-pounding hectic manner as trying to harvest resources in that crucial first 2 minutes of an RTS match. I can see the appeal, but it's not for me. It gives me a headache.
I need something more dumb and relaxed.

I just got this too. Still learning what it's all about, but it's pretty fun. The "puzzle mode," which forces you to clear all blocks within a set number of moves, is good for observing the various techniques that are possible.
