Your poll is broken. If you are making "Sandwiches" you are making more than one therefore there is no way you would only put Peanut Butter on only one piece of bread.

only if the toast is warm enough to melt the pb all over the nanners.

One side gets the PB, one side gets the J. They are yin and yang. Thus has it ever been, thus shall is ever be.

Well... only 1, I guess, since I don't eat Jelly with my Peanut Butter. So I smack a whole lot on one side, smoosh together, enjoy.

Well I usually use three pieces of bread for a "double decker" PB&J, putting PB on two sides and J on two sides.

I only put the PB on one slice of bread but that's because I make open-faced sandwiches (technically not a sandwich at all, I guess). It's the same whether I am making PB+J or the far superior PB+Bananas.

I use peenut butter, not penut butter.

To hell with peanut butter.

Use nutella instead.

Peanut butter and nutella = yum, but makes your thirsty.

I put a thin layer of pb on both sides of a sandwich so the bread doesn't get all soggy from the way too much jam I cram into my pbj-sammiches.

One side, but the other side gets a lot of preserves, since I don't like jam as much. Also, blackberry/boisenberry/marrionberry FTW.

I always toast the bread, and I'm not packing lunches for work or anything, I'm eating it right there when I make it, so soggyiness isn't a problem.

One slice of bread. Peanut butter first goes on this slice of bread. Jam is then placed on peanut butter. Second slice of bread is placed on first.

Agreed. Simple, and you don't end up with jam in the PB or PB in the jam. My mom would've broken the wooden stick over my head if I got PB in her home made jam.

Pfft, cavemen. You mix the peanut butter and jelly together, then spread the mixture on the bread.

Jelly alternative: if you have a fruit juicer or blender, throw some bananas in there. Store it in a cup and throw it in the fridge and then when you want a deliciously healthy snack, throw some PB and banana juice on bread or bagel. So good!

I use that PB and J in one jar, so I put the spread on both.

That shit is nasty. It's not jam it's "jam." You might as well pour old Red Cow over a stale cracker.

I guess I should've mentioned that in my first post. I usually make the sammich at about 8am before I leave for work, and I love me some homemade blackberry jam. Hence the double-sided peanut butter.

That's a good way to end up with a soggy yang. Peanut butter goes on both sides, and jelly in the middle. And if you don't spread the jelly quite to the edges, then the peanut butter will seal around it and you'll have no oozing out the sides, either.

Where's the Shit Bonerz option for those of us that consider peanut butter an American abomination.

The US equivalent to the English marmite and Aussie Vegiemate - ie, stuff that's not supposed to be eaten. I I was ever to build a house of bread, I'd use PB as mortar, but eat the stuff? Never.
It's also contagious - 8 months in NY and thw wife swears by it. Evil.

I tried that once and was derided as a heathen by my Chinese girlfriend and German roommate.

Communist!

Personally, I find nothing beats a good peanut butter and guava jelly sandwich.

I concur with the PB=crap thing.
Even if if we allow for Nutella (or our superior local brand Nocilla), I can't pick one of the two options, because I actually take one slice of bread, spread the stuff over and then fold it, so when I actually eat it both inner sides are covered.
As this folding thing results in an apparent paradox, performing it right requires knowledge of advanced college level maths.
Don't try it before you are able to follow topological theorems, as you might fold it the wrong way with less than satisfactory results.

Black Cat Peanut Butter.

"Black Belt?"
"Nu Uh, Black Cat!"

You can't beat peanut butter and jam. Peanut butter and syrup comes close though.

This is the only proper way to make a PB and Banana.

There is no Shit Bonzer option because only communists don't like PBJ. The only reasonable excuse is that your allergic to peanut butter, although you still might like it, but simply can't eat it.

Ummm... no. Peanut butter is simply ground nuts (legumes, whatever), with a little salt and/or sugar added for seasoning.

Marmite and Vegemite, on the other hand, are basically and almost literally industrial waste.

Marmite and vegemite are made from yeast. Nothing like PB at all.

Peanut butter is a wonderfully healthy thing, the very simplest version simply being peanuts ground up until they break down into a paste. Peanut butter is extremely nutritious, and is used by UNICEF as a means to combat hunger in poor african countries, so don't be dissing the nut ... or legume as is this case.

You can also make some tasty nut butters from cashews, almonds and even macadamia nuts. Cashew nut butter sammiches are pretty awesome.
