In my cultural anthropology class, the teacher told us a story about an eskimo that ate his own foot to stay alive. He said that this guy was a celebrity among the Eskimo's who would get together and laugh about his story over and over.

Well, this guy was pretty dumb to a) not have a climbing buddy and b) not tell anyone where he was going and how long he'd be gone
