Free Comic Book Day

For all of us that don't have cash to buy comics anymore, May 3 is free comic book day.

Scott Kurtz is hyping the hell out of it over at http://www.pvponline.com]PVP. Apparently this isn't the first time they've done it.

So can I head over to my local comics store, scoop up all the free shit, and make my way out without buying anything? It just seems to violate TANSTAAFL.

Some stores violated the spirit of the day last year by requiring a purchase to get the free comics. Others limited to you to just a few titles. Some let you grab all 20!

It's all a promotion designed to drive traffic into stores and try to get more people into (or back into) comics.
