Well, if you've only heard his parodies, I can understand the confusion. For the most part, it's his originals that I find truly amusing. You Kazaa-using types should check out these songs...

"Christmas at Ground Zero"

And you have to admit that "(This Song is Just) Six Words Long" (a rip on "(Got My Mind) Set on You") and "Smells like Nirvana" are classic parodies, no? And "Addicted to Spuds," "I want a New Duck," and "Amish Paradise" are better than the originals. :)

Funny on screen? Must have missed that... Just because Tina Fey laughs at every joke either one of them tells doesn't make it actually funny...

And Adam Sandler? Ugh. It just goes to show you that tastes in entertainment definitely vary.

(Of course, what should I expect from a guy who works at a company that makes games where grown men pretend to be elves?)

I find Weird Al's stuff to be irritating... when it is funny, it's "heh" funny. Not even a chuckle, really. More like "that's kinda clever."

Actually, SNL has *never* been that funny. Even the Not Ready for Prime Time Players had their share of dead episodes. Yes, SNL has had brilliant moments, but hey, put a monkey on camera 40 Saturday nights a year for 30 years and he'll probably crack people up about as often. :)

I'd already resigned myself towards being considered crotchety as soon as I realized that 97% of new music totally sucked. :-)

i remember seeing his show on MTV where he pushed this guy off the roof and the camera watched the guy fell, he hit the street and immediately got rolled over by a truck ! :twisted: it was hilarious. of course the falling guy was just a doll. :wink:

Hey, Sparky, When I read the first post my mental response was "Hey, RUSH has been recording from the late 60s/early 70s and is still putting out good stuff now." so you're not alone.

Of course, I also dig Weird Al so I'm in both camps.
