Why can't I quit playing this thing.

I'm playing game after game after game. I'm staying up too late, waking up for a couple turns early before work, losing my weekends.

There's nothing I haven't seen (except me consistantly winning at any level above warlord), the music is repetitive. There are really only four or five viable strategies after warlord.

How come I can spend two hours a day laying railroads and shuffling little musketeers around?

I have other great games (or they're supposed to be great, god knows I haven't played them) laying around.

I need help.

I know what you mean. A couple of days ago, I spent an evening playing an epic game that was way too peaceful to be interesting. I wasn't having any fun, yet I dropped another four hours on Civ IV just like that. Of course, the obvious thing for me to do is start a new game. On marathon.

Two words: Nano probes.

I have it on good authority that Soren Johnson has them inserted into every box. They attack your frontal lobe weakening your ability to keep yourself from playing over and over.

I managed to cure a recent bout of CIV:Warlords addiction by playing Fall From Heaven, though the cure may be worse than the disease.

I've heard WOW is a cure.

I hear drugs are not the answer. You sit there, stare at the screen, and then get owned on Chieftain.

I've heard WOW is a cure.

It's a cure in the same way that decapitation cures headaches.

If the game is too peaceful, turn on aggressive AI.

It's "kine", an archaic word for cattle - don't ask me the difference.

I'll be damned. It is kine.
