I dunno...I just can't get over Dennis's "How do I get the sperm out of my hot tub" thread. Man, that killed me. I wonder if he had any idea how much enjoyment people like my wife and I were going to get out of that before he posted it.

But this is great stuff, too, no doubt.

Since it was pretty obviously fake, I'm sure he did know.

great writing in this, was somewhat surprised. Where did you find it? Yes it is really funny, but at the same time genuinely good.

It's been bouncing around the political blogs for a few days. I think she had an NPR piece that spawned it.

I second that. This could have easily been no more than a series of horror stories and sperm jokes, but it is much beyond that. A lot, I think, comes from the fact that she is 30 and is not just some college drop-out working at a video store.

I found it absolutely hilarious. Great writing. I sat down and read the whole thing, start to finish. I also tracked down and listened to the NPR bit (which is actually just her reading an excerpt from the journal), and it was also quite good.

Having experienced the subtle horror that is retail (albeit not in a video store), I found her insights genuinely amusing. It brought back a lot of memories (not all good ones).

Yeah, same here. While at McDonalds (I worked there for a month) this one fatty-chaser would always come in with his fat date of the moment. Terrifying.
