An amazing movie. It makes me sad that it lost to Chicago in the Oscars, since Chicago is a poor utilization of the film medium for a musical. But that's another story for another time.

Oh, adding on to that...

Adrien Brody was key, Polanski's direction was superbly done, and the movie was just so powerful. The scene where Spzilman (sp?) plays the "air piano" when hiding out... touching.

If any movie reminds me of the freedom I have taken for granted, it is this movie.

Well, Brody and Polanski winning Oscars were both upsets in favor of the Pianist, so it fared pretty well.
