If by that other "nintendo game" you mean Company of Heroes, then I am most inclined to agree. Looking like Smash? Not really.

Yeah, my wife really enjoyed Smash, but I doubt she'll be very into this. This is not cutesy characters, it's tiny death robots. Totally different vibe, even though the playstyle and mechanics are rather similar.
