How do I edit the title of a thread on this board?

I'm trying to edit my "Who are these people" thread to: "System Shcok 2 - Who are these people?"

I think it only works if you do it within the 'grace' period where you don't get that 'edited by:' message.

What happens if in the forum browser, you double click not on the title, but in the same cell as the title? For admins, this is a shortcut to edit titles. Not sure if it works for users as well.

It doesn't work for regular users.

And the only way to edit a title so that the title changes is if you go to Advanced Edit and change it before anyone else posts in the thread. As soon as there's a second post, it's locked in.

As for the comment about checking your spelling: that's the funny thing about typos and spelling mistakes, you often miss them a few times.

I really wish the title change rules were different.

That is exactly why I said it. Your own typos are very difficult to see, which is exactly why documents should go through a second pair of eyes. It would be hugely embarassing to have had two goes at the title and still get it wrong.

Unfortunately there was no way to say it without sounding like I was having a go at him.

Chet - would you please change the title thread for me. I gyuess I'm beyond the "grace period" and I'd already edited as Steve Vase suggested. Was hopinh some of the original dev's might hop in the thread... but they won't with such a generic title.
