I can't believe I'm actually considering buying this.

I can't believe you would consider buying it either.

Hang on, I can probably whip up a lego scene for only $175.

Hey Gary I've got an old school Voltron in my cube at work. If you want I can take some markers and make it look like it's from I, Robot or 2001 or something and then you can buy it for 400 dollars.

I wasn't sure what these responses were about until I went back to the original link and saw how much they were asking for it. Okay, forget it.

The guy making those podbrix things is a genius, though. He's managed to borrow Apple's marketing hype surrounding the iPod and Woz, along with Apple's carefully created perception of high price = high value, and combine it with the parallel geek love of cubicle toys. This lets him resell $5 worth of repackaged Lego toys and printed cardboard* for $200. He even uses prices like $198.99 and terms like "ultra-bright" and "semi-transparent material" to imply the rarity of common things like LEDs and small pieces of sheet plastic, so it seems like he's pricing it as low as he can. What a deal! Wish I had thought of it, he'll gross $20,000 selling 100 Lego kits.
*Not to mention the Sharper Image's style of calling cardboard "heavy card stock."

I wish I could convince people that their iPod shuffle, which has no need for a case at all, actually requires an enormous case of glued-together LEGO bricks at the low price of $49.99 US
Whoops, I mean "fused" together

At first I thought it was kinda neat.
Then I read it was a bunch of cardboard.

If you guys wanna talk about LEGOs, I'm the LEGO master.
I loves me some LEGOs. You know those big plastic tubs you use to store like old clothes and stuff? The ones that are 2 feet high? I have two of those filled to the brim with LEGOs.
Muhahahahahah.

Actually the guy is pretty smart in combining the marketing symbolism of LEGOs, whose little round peg-shaped connectors are known around the world, with the Apple campaign. Apple probably wishes they had thought of it first.

At this guy's rate, each of those tubs would probably set you back a couple of thousand dollars.
