When I get enough spare parts I'd like to start a dedicated game server - but Comcast's broadband upload speeds are terribly slow. What options do users have for getting faster speeds without spending too much?

None. You have to spend money to upgrade your bandwidth.

If you try to give more bandwidth to your cable modem, say by hacking the firmware of the cable modem against the terms of service, your modem will light up on the Comcast sysadmin board like a Christmas tree, and they'll be on you like a ton of bricks.

I know it's not the news you wanted to hear, so, sorry. :(

Last time I checked, running a server of any kind was against the Comcast TOS.

OK thanks for the info. I suspected as much, but thought I'd ask anyways.

ranvarian, I average 128k-256k upload.
