Cool, I didn't know they came striped as well.

Crazy fucking tapirs, never know what they'll do.

What happened to that thing's right leg? Was he injured? Or was he born that way?

It recedes into the recently molested past.

My God, I hope you aren't playing with the word filter right now!

In what I always thought was just a cliche and metaphoric made-up online response to an unexpected post, I actually have true and legal cause to demand, "You owe me a new keyboard." Hawaiian Punch, for the record.

As an aside to all of this, Splash Damage also had a thing for this particular animal when I was following their forums leading up to Quake Wars. They even advertised an International Day dedicated to it (27 April). And here is their most popular forum gif:

http://i34.tinypic.com/iyq2jl.gif

I can't read their forums the same way anymore...

He didn't call you a tapir, did he? I seem to remember there being a problem like that in the past...

Um no. Thank god.

Shame on you Tom for trying to ruin this message of racial understanding.

For what it's worth: that whole incident with the picture sent me off on one of my "I hate the internet" benders where I want to stab people for not being nice to each other. It's not even that the word is offensive (although it's still one of the only words I won't say), and it sure as hell isn't "censorship." It's just when somebody makes a polite request not to say something, why not either just acknowledge it out of basic, common courtesy; or ignore it?

I just wanted to publicly say I thought Tom handled it perfectly, and I wish he weren't getting so much flak for doing the right thing. People keep talking about what they can and can't say, but nobody's talking about what you should or shouldn't say, just out of respect. What's wrong with waiting until somebody proves himself to be an asshole before you start treating him like an asshole? Is everybody afraid the boards are going to lose their edge or something?

That's what we did. Hence, treating Markell like an asshole.

Gently touching the tapir, so to speak?

I think the tapir has some new competition, the Visayan warty piglet (http://www.floridatoday.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081002/BREAKINGNEWS/81002019/1086).

A baby announcement came out of the Brevard Zoo this morning: Its first Visayan warty piglet was born Sept. 17.

The tiny, brown-and-white striped girl was less than a pound at birth and is eight inches long and close to two pounds now.

The zoo just received its four adult Visayan warty pigs in June. There are three females and one male, Pandan, who had the baby with mom Makina.

In a statement from Brevard Zoo, animal programs director Michelle Smurl said of the baby: “The keepers report that she is glued to the mother, and they often vocalize to each other with grunts, squeaks, and other pig-like noises. One of the keepers commented that she resembles a little melon with stripes.”

The public won't be able to see the piglet until later in the month, zoo officials said.

Visayan warty pigs are native to six islands in the Philippines but are extinct on four of them.

I assume that after Sol's apology and the locking of the thread that the matter has been dealt with to the entity's satisfaction and we all need to stop being such yentas.

That thread was locked for awhile, then unlocked long enough for Solin Victus to deliver his I-have-sinned-against-you apology, then locked again, so pretty clearly he walked through penance in cooperation with Tom. Ergo thusly concordantly therefore (I'm positive the Architect was a yenta, too) I wouldn't expect him to join The Graphic of Woo anytime soon.

Oh, I missed the apology. Guess you had to be there when the locked thread got bumped.

Edit: Oh, it never got bumped? Just had to be looking for a change in the name of the last post?

I wouldn't take that bet. I think he's had his second strike.

I think Draikin is about to join the registry:

Nice job pirates. I guess they never thought someone with access to the gold copy would be a Fallout fan and risk his job to get the truth out.

Follow-up post from Draikin confirming his piracy of a game that's not out for weeks: (http://www.quartertothree.com/game-talk/showpost.php?p=1502892&postcount=4565)

The escape from the Vault with Oblivion guards running after the PC and giant coackroches everywhere in the Vault was too much for me. I gave up on Fallout 3.

Yom Kippur! Of course (smacks head) that's why there have been hundreds of cars parked up and down the streets of my neighborhood since yesterday evening (there's a synagogue 5 blocks away)

There's a difference between not liking him (he's an incredibly obvious troll, and his posts are a waste of the electricity they use up on the way to my screen), and reporting everything illicit he does to the ban thread.

The status of Draikin's account has nothing to do with Dave Markell's post. And in the future, I'd appreciate it if folks would limit their attempts at tattling to PMs.
