Well, I finally have some time to get back into gaming, since the E3 crunch is over. The last thing I touched was Oblivion, and I'm about ready to put it down. So, what's been released for PC in the last couple months that's worth playing? I enjoy anything but sports games, but I suppose I'm particular to FPS' and RPG's. A strategy game, realtime or otherwise, might be nice.

Well, there's this Rise of Legends game people are talking about. The Sin Episodes stuff is also supposed to be entertaining.

I'm really enjoying Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay right now..
Shattered Union was a fun little turn-based romp..
Pacific Fighters is a nice flight sim with pretty water..
Prince of Persia: Two Thrones is, as always, very slick action-adventure..
Psychonauts -- platformer I've most enjoyed in the last 10 years.
Gal Civ2 kicked my ass.. passive aggressively.
that's my recent PC play list.

I'm having a blast with SpellForce 2.
For me it's a really good blending of an RPG and RTS,the best I've played in this style of game.
The graphics are very good and the story in the campaign has kept me interested.Plus I haven't really come across any bugs so far, which is good for a new release these days.
So a thumbs up so far for me.

... but it has Starforce.
You should try Rise of Legends, Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, and Sin Episodes: Emergence. Half-life 2 Episode 1 also comes out on June 1st.

Not the North American version.
It uses Tages copy protection btw.
"Darwinia" was fun, though a bit short.

Spellforce 2 and Darwinia have my interest. I'll see if the local EB has a copy of Spellforce 2.

So is there a way to tell this? I feel like there should be a disclaimer on the box. I saw Codename Panzers: Phase One at Target for $10, but I remember it being on the Starforce list I look at (link (http://www.glop.org/starforce/list.php)).
Spellforce 2 is also on there. So what's the definateive list? I want to play Codename Panzers, but I don't want Starforce on my laptop or any new computers I buy.

Spellforce 2.
I picked up Crusader Kings after the release of the latest patch and the excellent recommendations that came with it.

Heroes V sounds decent.
Guild Wars Factions sounds like more of same. Not necessarily bad thing, if same was enjoyed first time around.

You could do a lot worse than Darwinia for $20. It's about halfway between a traditional RTS and Populous.

I love the Panzers games and Starforce has never given me trouble. I've reviewed a lot of stuff that has it including both of the Panzers titles. That Target box has a quote on it from my review I think. I know it has the CG Editor's Choice thingy on the box at least.

A-Ray is one program that can recognise different copy protection.
I use it to see if I should even bother running Mini-image Ripper or start the
hunt for a no-cd crack. It recognises RoL as using Smarte, which means I
still need the disc :/
