Optical effect: faces (http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=be0_1336608452)

My own theory:
Seems our brain face recognition speed suck and cheats a lot, creating the illusion of a face, wen we only see details. By changing these faces fast, and in pairs, we break the speed of that buffer, generating "identities" that our brain can't handle.

We don't really see faces, its a illusion.

Probably been linked before, but if not, The Hundred Cheesiest Movie Quotes of All Time (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTiAS7cdsYc). It's heavily biased towards blockbusters, especially 80's Arnie blockbusters, so they really aren't the cheesiest (you have to dredge through B-grade schlock for those), but some are hilarious, especially out of context.

Arabic subculture of Hajwalah. It's simply drifting on the freakin' highway. This clip shows a Toyota Camry going sideways at 200kph+ and when it digs into the sandbank, it begins an incredibly fast roll. I know you put in a warning and all but that video is ridiculously inappropriate for this thread. It's "Best YouTube Videos" not "Faces of Death".

As to why there is no blood, a traumatically severed limb will not spurt blood dramatically like it does in the movies, first of all the effects of shock will very much reduce blood pressure in the limbs, second of all you probably would not be able to make out the blood loss on video at that resolution at that distance. That's not to say these poor fellows didnt bleed out very quickly, just that it mostly would have happened once they had come to rest on the pavement, and not in giant arterial fountains that hollywood would have you beleive.

I'm not really sure what is going on here (http://gawker.com/5930283/did-this-underground-hip-hop-artist-from-south-korea-just-release-the-best-music-video-of-the-year), but after watching it I now know that Seoul certainly has the cleanest subway cars in the world.

Kind of makes me want to go spend a year living in South Korea just so I can experience pop culture like this on a daily basis.

If you click through a few of those articles, you'll find this video of PSY at a baseball game giving an impromptu performance (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jz4H5WI6bvY).

Depicts nipples on someone who appears to be female, so most def. NSFW in most U.S. places of work.

I think the part where I said "probably NSFW" was enough warning for those with workplaces that have strict standards.

I think Dave is using humor as a shield here. I suspect he, like me, saw the first seconds of that video and thought "yummy, nice glutes", then felt horribly betrayed at the end just like the guy in The Crying Game. Or maybe that's just me.

Could anyone seriously mistake that nutsack for wizard's sleeves?

I am now terrified of the term "wizards sleeves", having never heard of it in this context. Once the person turns around its obvious the front compartment has a bit more luggage than expected from the earlier rear view, thus my discomfort.

I concur, but that won't stop me from using the phrase
