Nintendo DS: BROKE THE SHIT OUT OF IT

My wife and I went to visit my Mom for Christmas last year and spent a few days. After arriving back home we discovered that the top screen on the DS was cracked. Now, nothing hard had been set on it or anything, in fact my wife had it in her purse, but when we got home and she started playing Animal Crossing we noticed it had shattered. She's still playing AC with it but it's something I'd like to get fixed.

What are my options? Is there a DIY repair option here? Can I buy parts? I really don't want to have to buy a new one.

Just buy the screen cover. I'm assuming you mean the clear cover, since she can still play? They sell those, very cheap, at nintendo.com, just like they did for GB, GBC and GBA. The BOTTOM screen breaks and you will need them to fix it, top one, if it isnt the LCD, just the plastic cover, you can fix easily.

Actually no, it's the inside screen. She can play it because of the crack angle. I wish it was the other way.
