Wow. The movie was about as exciting as the book (which I never could finish) just without the childishness (read: Tom Bombadil).

I'm not going to go to terribly far into it, but I really never liked the book, but I did love the movie. I attribute this to Tom Bombadil as well. Though, I do love the wights in the book.
