I posted this in some other interminable and insufferable WoW thread, but now that I've decided to cavalierly flush half my life down the toilet - for my fellow Euroweenies, what server are you playing on? I'm currently spending most of my time on Shadowmoon, but I'd like to meet up with some good people for whom I can spoil the Firefly movie in party or guild chat. Here's a hint: the guys who die are the ones with no more than two or three lines the entire movie. But that's a digression from the main point, which is this - is there a designated server for Qt3 Europe WoW? If not, do I have to create a fucking guild for it? Because I'll tell you right now, I'll do it, but that guild is going to be called "WashDies".

Heather and I just got the game, and we are on Moonrunner. There is a Qt3 guild there. Maybe give it a try and see if you get acceptable performance?

Rob, Crypt won't be able to join the Drop Bears. He's decided to play a Troll, and as you know, they're a Horde race, and we're an Alliance guild.

I think most Europeans ended up on different servers, I'm horde on Shattered Hand and Spinebreaker. You have to play a little on the server before deciding on it since many are dominated by nationalities speaking languages you might not be familiar with. Spinebreaker is unplayable for me since it's in Spanish, and it's the same with Russian, Swedish, Italian and so on with other servers. It took a while before it happened which is why I still have a lvl 60 on Spinebreaker, but by now it should be pretty clear what the unofficial language is on most servers.

Erik, you're probably right in that - I think Shadow Moon is the unofficial Cyrillic speaking server, since the general chat is filled with cold, soviet looking symbols separated by thirty seconds from the obligatory "English, please" exasperated response. Yet more evidence that for all the EU's supposed homogeneity and singularity, we're going to be cracking open each other's heads and feasting on the goo inside within the next decade.
Rob, European players aren't allowed to play on American servers - it's not even an option, unless you happen to have bought an American copy of the game. It gets confusing because the European servers have the exact same names as the American servers, but they're not the same. A total fucking boner in an otherwise great game.

I'm looking forward to that. The Spanish are easy to spot.

That's the most fucking retarded design decision of theirs, yeah. Every single
other MMO I've tried has unique names for each server(-cluster).
I'm playing on Argent Dawn, Europe, anyway. If none of you are, boo you.
I used to be on Shadow Moon - it was the "official" Czech server, and had a massive influx of Greeks just before I transferred, which might be the whole language thing you've noticed. The transfer was a pretty easy decision to make, as the Cz guilds on both sides tended to collaborate and fuck up any other guilds events (like taking down Azuregos, for example) and were possibly the most irritating gankers around. I don't usually give a shit about nationality but they definitely didn't make themselves popular as a whole.
Some of the English-speaking guilds on the Horde side were rammed with fuckwits, as well. We moved to Magtheridon along with some people from Burning Legion, and it's a much nicer server. The BL guilds are also miles ahead of anyone who was on SM - not that it's a necessarily a good thing, but it IS very different when you have guilds who are farming Nef and PvPing with uber gear.

I'm actually a night elf warrior on the Thunderhorn Euro servers. If anyone is there drop me a line, I'm Grendo in-game.
