It would appear that there's a patch for Xbox Live that you need to download before you can log in. Haven't done it yet, or seen any patch notes. Does anyone know what it does? I'm hoping it fixes the download issue, at least.

You can't download in the background, apparently.
Did you end up trying it, Whitta?

There was an xbox live update and free map-pack update for Battlefield 2 on December 21 that has fucked up my access to xbox live. I believe it was the map-pack that screwed up my access. I deleted the file, but the game still locks up when trying to access Live. The EA forums are frantic with people having the same problem. My guess is that this has something to do with older versions of the Xbox, so who knows when/if EA will get around to helping us.

I just logged into Live for the first time in a few days and I didn't notice any patch download.

Their ungodly slowness? I've downloaded from two different locations, and damn is it slow. That combined with not being able to switch away has stopped me from grabbing some of the demos, namely games I'm not that interested in but wouldn't mind checking out like the EA stuff.

I've never found it slow. I mean, some of those demos are HUGE. They don't download much slower or faster over Live than an 800MB demo would download from, say, Fileplanet. It's not maxing out my connection, but it's not like I'm getting 50KB/sec or something crappy like that, either.

Yeah, my download speeds have been great. I've seen people complaining about it but don't understand why. Now being able to download in the background would be awesome.
