Or try and hold it in a church, the god squad aren't happy
First Couples get "civil unions" in UK (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/4540226.stm)
The Reverend David McIlveen, of the Free Presbyterian Church - among the protesters - said he was "very much opposed" to the "marriage in all but name" of gay couples.
The Bible described marriage as "a relationship between male and female for the bringing up of children", he told BBC News.
Anti-gay protesters lined up outside Belfast City Hall
"It is revealed as being an honourable relationship whereas the Bible speaks of same sex relationships as being an abomination. You cannot reconcile the two."
And there was me thinking this was about civil rights.

They don't seem to say the number of protesters. Anyone who watches British TV will know that "protests" in Britain usually amount to half a dozen people with placards and maybe a Yorkshire terrier.
If there were any substantial number of people there, it was probably people from the Socialist Workers Party who mistook it for a bandwagon they could jump on.

About 40 people staged a protest outside City Hall.
No mention of Socialist Worker but thats not a bad number for a UK protest.

Yes, but the Yorky's placard only says "Yip! Yip! Yip! Yip! Yip!"

Interesting from the U.S. perspective is that even though this is supposedly just "civil partnership," everyone is calling it marriage, even many of the news stories.

they discussed this on "BBC World Have Your Say" today. I was pretty disgusted by a lot of the anit-gay comments. One woman on was equating permitting the civil unions with fascism because it wasn't put to a vote by the people and talked about how it was discriminatory because other family members couldn't register (a parent-child civil union) and therefore would have to pay 40% inheritance tax.
Blatant Barf.
A lot of people in Africa are pissed about it as well. And we all know how well marriages between heterosexual couples are treated there!
