There's a PBS documentary with never-before-seen color footage (http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/artsentertainment/134630978_perilous10.html) of the war, this Wednesday and Friday.

The History Channel has run something similar to this, named the exact same thing I think. It's been over a year since it was shown though, I believe.

I have a DVD of that documentary, or a similar one, in Swedish and German languages. The footage really is amazing -- colour makes a huge difference; drawing you into events that seems distant in black and white.

There are some other snippets of color footage from WWII. I recommend Colors of War (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/ColorsofWarEurope-1113478/about.php) if you can find it.
