Sweet.

Lots of actors available to play Max.

Well the good news is that in keeping with the game's length relative to other games, the movie will only be 45 minutes long. But 30 minutes of that will be the burning restaurant scene restarting over and over again, Groundhog Day style.

Let's hope they stay true to the essence of the game by forcing moviegoers to watch whoever plays max running through a dark room on top of blood trails as a baby incessantly screams, again, and again, and again, and again....

You can only watch the movie by yourself.

They haven't named a director yet. Perhaps they can get Uwe Boll.

That's my enduring memory of that game.

Probably because I uninstalled that shit right after.

Come on, aside from the recurring dream sequences, that game was great.

Anyway, I hope the movie is good, though of course I expect it'll be horrible, just like most other game-to-movie translations.

Yeah, I had a good time with the first one. The dream sequences were dumb and dumber, but weren't a big portion of the game.

I played through it once and was unable to summon any desire to play it again even though I tried to play it again. I think that feeling carried over for me to the sequel.

I don't see anything special about the game that would make Hollywood snap it up. There must be a million hardboiled scripts floating around as yet unfilmed.

I missed the constipated look on Max's face from the first game. They need to bring that back for the movie.

WE MUST KNOW A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ALL THIS . LOOK in SIGNS THE AUDIENCE KNOWS THAT THE ALIENS WANTS TO DESTROY - SO HE AUDIENCE IS AFRAID. LIKE WHT YOU SAY ABOUT OSAMA BIN LADEN: WE DONT KNOW A LOT - BUT WE ARE FRAID - BECAUSE OF 11.9. - SO WITHOUT ANY INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ALIENS WE ALL FEEL NOTHING - WE ARE ALL CONFUSED BUT LETS SAY YOU NEVER WOULD HAVE SHOWED AN ALIEN IN SIGN - IT WOULD BE A DESASTER - NOBODY WOULD TAKE IT SERIOUS!!

They just need to hire Mickey Rourke for the part. It's a natural.

Lots of "naturals" for Max.

Madsen
Russell
Van Damme
Stallone
C. Thomas Howell
Dillon (either)

It *has* to be an 80s or 90s era guy.

Only one I would give the thumbs up to is Madsen, but he's have to lose about 30 pounds.

I shudder at the thought of Stallone or Van Damme.

Honestly, now that it's out there, I don't think there could be a better choice than Mickey Rourke.

I can't see Madsen pulling it off, he was the weakest element of Sin City by far. He was the one actor that didn't seem to "get it," whether you liked "it" or not was a different matter.

After seeing him in Sin City, I'd have to agree with this 100%. He's on top of whatever game he has left so use it!

Bah. It'll probably be Bruce Willis with a black wig.

Eddie Cahill from CSI:NY has always reminded me of Max.

You guys think this movie will have a budget big enough for Rourke?

Turning a it into a movie would only have been interesting if it had been a game.

With the level of interactivity and choices the player was given in the level design, they could practically pass a speedrun of Max Payne 1&2 off in the theaters

And that STILL would probabaly be a lot more interesting than the average action movie ...

Is Mickey Rourke that expensive? In any case, the budget is probably proportional to how much of a continuing franchise they believe they can turn this into. After all, they got Angelina Jolie to play Lara Croft. That couldn't have been cheap.

Well the Tomb Raider games were also a lot more profitable then the Max Payne games. Also there are two Max Payne games, I don't even want to count how many Tomb Raider games.

Moggraider

I don't think it's the number of games that matters; it's not like the TR affairs were direct adaptations of the games. It's the number of movies and tickets sold that producers think they can squeeze out of a property that matters.

RedTide

That's kind of what I meant, Max Payne probably will never be as big as Tomb Raider was.

True. How many of the general public have heard of Max Payne? For that matter, how much of the general gaming population have heard of Max Payne. I don't know what Mickey Rourke charges, but he's not exactly a top billed star.

Anyone know how much he got payed for Sin City?
