Golf games then. I've got a PS2 and an Xbox. What's the best golf game for my dad and I to get into? "Golf" on the NES was one of the few games he ever put any time into, and while he's seen me play some Forza and PGR2 and mentioned he could maybe get into a racer, but I think golf would still be the way to go to start. I don't care about which platform, I don't care about Tiger Woods' name or any other licensing of real players or courses, nor extreme realism or extreme zanyness. I just want the best solid accessible golf game for my money. I could probably rule out Outlaw Golf, the humor wouldn't go over too well with my dad (or me for that matter, though if it was just me I could ignore it if it really was the best golf game, which I doubt). It doesn't even have to be the most current, if Hot Shots 4 screwed up and 3 was the best, that's cool, or whatever. I guess the only other consideration I should stress is that multiplayer is important here if you haven't picked up on that. So can I get a consensus? Appreciate any help guys, thanks.

Tiger Woods love here. I like 2004 better becuse of the putting grid, but if you've never played with it, you probably won't miss it.

Hot Shots Golf Fore. Tiger Woods is a miserable experience.

Links I do enjoy. Hot Shots has 40 feet gimmes. It blows.

HOT SHOTS GOLF 3 is cheap, easily acceisble, tough and master, and just plain awesome. Hot Shots Golf Fore strikes me as a more expensive expansion pack. I'd get HSG3 first, to see if The Old Man digs it. The caricatures are horrible, though.

Tiger Woods is HSG3's opposite. Its interface is cumbersome, yet the gameplay quirks make the challenge scattershot (150-yard eagles puched from the rough with Tiger Woods aren't uncommon, yet 300-yard drives without shanking the ball are quite uncommon). The character models and graphics are realistic. Real PGA Tour players are used, but you can build your own character's stats anyway, so it makes little difference.

I should chime in and say that Tiger Woods for the PC, at leat the last two years' versions, are a TOTALLY different experience than on the consoles. It's much more of a serious golf sim, and the mouse swing control is really nice.
