I didn't remember seeing a post on this here. Probably was one. If so, sorry.

What's going to happen to Dreamcatcher?

Great news. They made those prototypical French games, all graphics, no gameplay. Good riddance.

They made or were working on Megarace 3. That says it all.

What will Dreamcatcher do? If their games have been selling, they'll find other developers eager enough to make adventure games. If not, then the marketplace has spoken.

They may have sucked lately, but they are responsible for Captain Blood and that great 1992 Dune game, which were pretty damn good. Based on those triumphs, they deserve a place in the history of the game biz.

If I recall correctly, Cryo also owned VirCom, which was developing an online RTS based on Dune (Dune Generations). One has to wonder what will come of this now.

My guess: DC won't be affected. From the references in the source stories, this seems related to Cryo's European operations.

Thanks for your concern, gang. Rest assured, it's all good at here at DreamCatcher.

Read the official statement from our president. (http://www.dreamcatchergames.com/press/releases/dreamcatcherresponds.html)

We are continuing work on a number of titles developed outside of Cryo (Iron Storm, Hegemonia, Harbinger, Painkiller, Syberia) and it is truly "business as usual."
