View Full Version : "As Good as a Game Gets"
I am tempted to say this is as good as a game gets...
That's right. Molyneux is at it again (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/blackwhite2/preview_6123145.html?q=1&tag=gs_pc_flashtop_story)...

I'd like to believe that Lionhead have learnt from their mistakes in B&W.
Whilst I certainly don't argue that B&W had some pretty fundamental flaws there was still an awful lot in it to be excited about and I certainly don't feel that I was cheated into buying the game nor that I especially wasted my money or was *wrong* to enjoy much of it as much as I did.
That said, this time around I'm waiting for some fan site reviews of the game before I take the plunge. Elements of the game as described don't really appeal to me that much. I want from this what I wanted from B&W, a monster training/playing game not a villager micromanagement tool, and at the moment I'm not sure that it isn't leaning more towards being an out and out RTS with a monster thrown in for good measure.
Molyneux certainly likes to talk the talk but there are times when I wonder if the rest of lionhead aren't wondering whether the chemists stock Chloroform when the gaming press come round for a chat.

I agree completely with Nellie. Everything he said is absolutely how I feel about it.
*I love 'me too' posts. :P

No, to do a proper "me too" post, you need to quote the entire thread and just add "me too" at the end of it. This is wonderful on usenet when you get 12 page discussions with me too posts all over the place.
I'll let him shit in my mouth after he completes the game and I buy it, thank you very much.

I love the only 'what we got right answer'
'we were brave'

I think most companies would love to have someone with his fame, notoriety, and ability to catch people's attention. Even his weak games at least get noticed.

Not me too. I really, really wanted deeper villager interaction. I wanted The Settlers with giant monsters. I'm really looking forward to the sequel.
I'm actually not very skeptic of Molyneux this time. It can't nearly be as good as he says, but it looks to be a very good game.
