I'm looking for erotic prints or etchings (no photographs) to put on the walls in my apartment. Kinda Pompeii-style. The requirements are that they're tasteful and high-quality. And art. Because otherwise my mother would never visit me.

They can be reproductions of older fine art, or well-done contemporary art, though you'd have a harder time convincing me in the latter case. No fantasy, no fetish (unless it's ancient Roman fetish), no Kamasutra acrobatic contortionism.

Any suggestions on where to look? Museum websites that sell prints online don't have erotic prints for sale (that I've found).

Edit: Join me in this fun and educational search! I've stumbled upon many interesting artistic websites in the genre.

BTW, here is a piece of Pompeii fresco, and an example of what I'm looking for:

Fire, you call that tasteful and high-quality?
How on earth is a fresco depicting cunnilingus "tasteful"?
I'm sure Whitta has an entire dungeon walled with those things, but really, much as I hate the legal definition of sodomy, I think it may be a good yardstick for "tasteful erotic art".

First, she has to stop eating asparagus and drink more water.

I guess Fire has exhausted every single piece of porn extant - not a mean feat! (Mean to his penis, I guess :( )

Do you think that there are any women on this planet who would feel comfortable going to your pad with its 'tasteful' porn on every wall and think that you are a gentleman because, well, its tasteful porn.

"Hey, babe, ya wanna, erm, come up and see my etchings?"
"Sure, fire! Wait, what's this? You pervert!! Take off your pants, right now! You need a spanking!"
"YEAH!"

You think you wouldn't happen?

Bill, I really expected you, of all people, to come through for me on this one.

He clearly thinks his mother will Peter. It says so in the opening post.

While I question the choice to decorate your apartment walls with porn-lite, if you are looking for 'artistic' porn, you may want to look into Japanese ukiyo-e prints. Erotic ukiyo-e art is called shunga.

In an effort to steer you towards something beyond Roman cunnilingus, maybe some of Picasso's Satyr drawings.

Gustav Klimt also did some erotic work- his Danae even includes a Golden shower reference for you.

Aubrey Beardsley also was a dab hand at drawing, Be sure to use some Wildeish wit when you refer to them. Go Art Nouveau!

Thanks. FWIW, I prefer Picasso's erotic work to Dali's. And yeah, the first image was a little over the top. ;)

In my opinion, most women worth having won't think nearly as much of your "tasteful" Roman fetish frescoes as you will - either because they have taste or because they don't want to spend every minute of time at your apartment looking at pornography.

My wife had these two prints before I met her, both of which I find pretty cool:

They are by William Bouguereau. More of his works can be found here: http://www.goodart.org/artofwb.htm

Lokust, no offense, but judging by the artwork I'd say your wife is every woman I dated in College. ;-)

I have the top Bougereau print in my living room. He had the misfortune to be the greatest academy painter of his time. That time being when those over-rated Impressionists started developing their chocolate-box art.

Bub- sounds like you noticed the same thing as me at college. God knows how many copies of Klimt's 'The Kiss' I saw on the back of dormitory doors. Wish I had the franchise.

It took a long, LONG time for impressionism to grow on me - I think I was 22 before I finally started appreciating it.
