Thinking of signing up for one of these. Any recommendations? My company seems to give a discount for G-Play.

I was a customer of G-Play (formerly GoVoJo) for slightly more than a year. If you're in California, I would expect your results to be different, because they are in Oakland. For me, it would take at least a week to get a game turned around from them, from my mailing it off to getting a new game. Once it took two weeks. In contrast, Netflix has turned a movie around for me in 3 days thanks to their local distribution center.

I also had a problem with getting new release games, they rarely were available, so I'd end up getting stuff I was only mildly interested in from the 10-up spaces in my queue. When I canceled, they were promising to get more new release titles, but who knows how that went. Note that GameFly will tell you whether a game is in stock without logging in, but G-Play won't.

A couple of times I got games that would not boot up in my Xbox or PS2, Apex and SSX3 if I recall. They were decent about sending a replacement game immediately without waiting for the other game to be returned, but it still wasted a lot of time. They could have avoided the whole problem by inspecting the discs and running them through the Disc Doctor before mailing them out.

I wouldn't say they were awful, and they did let me find out about many games that were not worth buying or playing, but I can't recommend them without reservation. Your experience with turnaround may be very different.

I've been considering one, but Blockbuster seems to be a smart pick right now. A lot faster times. However, since the cloest Blockbuster to me is about 2 hours away, I have to rely on an internet so.

So, back to the original topic. I'm looking for a good gaming rental store as well. Fast = better. Does Netflix do something like this?

If your on the west coast I think Gamefly is the best option.

on East Coast - www.gamerang.com is your best bet. Their warehouse is in New Jersey. It's 1-2 day turnaround for me here in Wash DC.
