What drugs are Ford designers taking? Probably the same ones that GM was passing out when they designed that Aztec.

Lots of large luxury vehicles with poor rear visibility have rear cameras in lieu or in addition to the rearview mirror. Note that the vehicle has no rear window, so you'd need something to see behind you while backing up.

It's a concept car, it's required to make you go "WTF?" Unlike the Aztec, which improbably made it into production.
