Are there any adventure gamers left here? Have any of you checked out this game Moment of Silence (http://www.adventuregamers.com/article/id,448)? It is an import adventure game on DVD and GMicek is telling me he has heard nothing but good stuff about it. Anyone check it out yet?

Never heard of it, but it sure sounds damned cool.

Ditto. But the game does sound pretty cool, even though I'm certainly not an "adventure gamer" by trade. It's got it's appeal, from time to time.

Me too. Bad thread title, bad! No cookie for you!
Haven't played it myself, but it got really decent reviews over here. Seems like one of the adventures to be considered this season. (Unlike Sherlock Holmes, which has received a rather mixed feedback so far.)

The game is developed by House-of-Tales in Germany. and its a point-and-click game. A friend of mine played through it and he is quite enthusiastic about the storyline.
I played about 20 minutes of the game, but I can only speak about the graphics and the sound when I say that the game is not state-of-the-art:
- prerendered scenes/backgrounds with few animations
- silent NPC´s without any sound and few animations
- shitty mousing, really
I predict the game will be in the 10 US-$ range within a few months. The game is good, but is defo not as eye candyish as Myst IV.

Adventure games?
Ahh, but we knew those were dead a long time ago. :P

I liked the demo, and will pick it up once my current game backlog clears. It seems like a classic 2D adventure, with a good sci-fi plot (shades of Under a Steel Sky, though more serious) and good puzzles. If the rest of game is as good as the demo I'll be quite happy, which from the reviews I've read seems likely.
The graphics are just fine for such a game, and I'll take them in preference over Myst 4's baroque shine and mouse hotspot hunting anyday (which my wife and I so far regret getting).

I played it for a bit. I like adventure games, and it could just be a slow burner, but the appalling acting/translation (http://www.richardcobbett.co.uk/node/518) and dreadful movement controls really sapped my desire to play it for more than an hour or so.

The author of that review needs to step off a bit. Ooh, the Merriam-Webster definition of "silence" as the opener? Be still, my pretentious heart!
