I've been playing this all weekend (much of the press got copies on Friday). There's an embargo on reviews until tomorrow at noon so I shouldn't say too much. But that comment from the EW article about the plot... "could be seen as a indictment of Bush's actions in Iraq" or whatever it was?
Don't worry, it's not. I mean you'd have to reach pretty damn far to come to that. I have to be halfway through the game and you could only really make a connection if you're the kind of person who could connect ANYTHING to the war in Iraq. "The Incredibles could be seen as a scathing indictment of Bush's actions in Iraq."
So don't worry. There's lots of plot - more than in the first game - and it's all very Halo. It's not pushing some political message or anything. There's a bunch of spiritual mumbo jumbo on the Covenant side because that's what drives their actions, but it's not like some sort of Muslim analog or something.
Oh, and as for the clan sign-ups: you create a clan from within the game. I haven't made a QT3 clan because I don't want to be the top-ranking guy in charge of it all, but I might play with the interface later.
