I watched the debate coverage tonight on MSNBC and was struck by how a disproportionate number of the "reaction interviews" were with openly partisan backers of the Bush/Cheney ticket. By my count it was at the very least 6 - 4 in favor of Bush/Cheney. They had Giuliani, Frist, some dude named Evans, some other campaign flunkies, Karen Hughes, etc. On the other side you hade the Kerry campaign manager, Kerry's daughter, and I can't even remember the third person. Maybe 4 if you count Joe Trippi, who's officially with the network. What the hell? I was pretty disgusted. Normally I think Matthews is pretty evenhanded, but tonight he gave the Bush/Cheney people a pass.

Like 99.97% of the rest of America, I didn't watch MSNBC (ever) so I'm not sure exactly how bad it was, but really, 6 to 4 isn't all that out lopsided.

"Did our plan to get MSNBC to slant their reporting of how I did help us out any?"

"Yes sir, Mr. President! Your numbers are up by 10!"

"10%? Hey now, that's pretty good"

"No sir, not 10%. 10. Just 10."

By television commentator standards, 6/4 is a fucking miracle. Normally it's 2 crazy wingers, 2 moderate republican media commentators, plus a few non-partisan (but lean right) reporters.

Read this article (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6227104/) by the MSNBC "National affairs writer". It's one of MSNBC's 'Top Stories' about the debate. Is it just me, or is that piece riddled with bias?

Bizarre they'd put that in the 'news analysis' section and not the editorials. Maybe it was an administrative screw up. Find it hard to believe something that biased as snuck in as news deliberately.
