Scary Movie 3: Episode 1 - The Lord of the Brooms

Um...Yeah, I'll be seeing this one. Scary Movie (the first one -- won't discuss the second) was moderately funny, and I loved the Airplane! movies. This one has potential.

I love good parodies. And sometimes not-so-good ones. I'll give this one a chance.

The fact that the Wayans brothers aren't in it is a point in its favor, is you ask me.

I used to have a friend who worked for Columbia pictures as the head press kit writer. The Wayans Brothers had a contract there at the time, signed at the height of "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka!" fame. Anyway, everytime a new Wayans Brothers movie was going to come out, her boss would come up to her and say: "Just bury it."

So either Americans have become much more amused by bug-eyed black guys in the last ten years, or that guy's not in charge anymore.

Kinda confused though... The Wayan's brothers pretty well have nothing to do with this. Looks like Keenen Ivory might be directing, but that's the only connection to the other 3 movies.

More confusion: and why is it being called Scary Movie 3, when it is neither a parody of horror films, have any of the recurring characters from the Scary Movie series, and has none of its stars or its director?

IMDB disagrees with Ananova. According to IMDB, Scary Movie 3 is also being directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans. I suspect that's why there's going with the title of Scary Movie 3, as well. Also according to IMDB, it will star Shawn and Marlon (ugh!), but it won't be written by them.

I'm gonna git you sucka is probably on my top 5 (alright, maybe top 10) comedies of all time list - though the Wayans have certainly never done anything else approaching it.
