Okay, I recognize that I might get nothing but the chirping of crickets from this thread, but in case there's anyone out there who has even a modicum of interest in either the Flaming Lips or Beck, I would be remiss in not telling you to get your tickets as soon as possible. This show was fantastic (here in Denver) and about as much fun as you'll ever have at a live show. Needless to say, perhaps, the Lips take the silliness over the top with a horde of animal-suited people shining flashlights and hugging strangers, gigantic mirror balls, and singing nun puppets. I couldn't stop giggling through their whole set.
The whole concept of the tour is that the Lips are Beck's back-up band, so they pretty much play the whole night. Beck's set is mostly folksy and somber -- in line with his new album -- but still some really incredible songs. I was there to see the Lips, but came out very impressed with Mr. Beck.
Anyone else out there catch this tour or see any other fantastic shows this season? I admit, I thought no price could keep me from finally seeing Peter Gabriel. But I was wrong. $90 for the shitty seats was just absurd.
