This looks interesting - I always thought DS was a tech looking for a game, so this might be it... Anybody tried it?

We call Elemental's theme Biblepunk™. The game is set in an alternate mythical version of ancient Judea that is gritty, mean, profane, full of thieves and Romans and whores.

Biblepunk?

I work on that mod... I only started last year and they had already put more than a year into it. It's a rewrite of just about everything except the graphics engine. And it's a lot of fun. R3 is a our lastest Alpha release and R4 should be out before too long. Also, as you'll notice on our website, we are a mod of the month in the October PC Gamer.

Matt, I like the look of it, but I'd rather play a finished version. How far away from completion do you reckon the project is?

It's good that somebody turned DS into something useful other than melting the discs into ashtrays.

Bill, I think the lead programmer/organiser was assembler_of_redux from the old OMM boards. Not sure if he's still involved... wzrd?

We're aiming for the end of this year. A new version that will include a fair amount of our planned features will probably be out end of this month, beginning of next.

Yeah, he's the lead on the project and our story writer, so you have to talk to him about the bible punk theory. :D

Ah! Interesting. I hope he forgets that I used to refer to him as Assembly_of_Retards (Hey, I was a kidder back then, oh boy!).

Anyway, I think my prior post was a little too thin. It does look interesting

Is the main character still a furry (http://www.quartertothree.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5300&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=dungeon)?

As your main character you can choose either a tiger, a mantis (who is large and in charge) or a human. Currently the tiger is the only selection, that is changing for the next release.

Me, doesn't matter what the avatar is, but a lot of people seem to have a problem with the animals in the games...weird.

I guess people find it odd to roam the Roman Empire in Biblical times solving quests, righting wrongs, and accumulating wealth as a tiger. Some people, who knows...
