Why yes he is (http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/2004-08-30-moore-gopamerica_x.htm)

It's boilerplate Moore, but the tagline from the bottom of the article puts it in perspective:

Political conventions have become predictable rituals, four-day cheerleading sessions for both parties. So USA TODAY is offering readers an alternative perspective. Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore, director of Fahrenheit 9/11, is writing daily from the Republican convention in New York. A month ago, conservative National Review columnist Jonah Goldberg weighed in from the Democratic convention.

Well they did drop Ann Coulter, whose column started out:

"Here at the Spawn of Satan convention in Boston, conservatives are deploying a series of covert signals to identify one another, much like gay men do. My allies are the ones wearing crosses or American flags. The people sporting shirts emblazoned with the 'F-word' are my opponents."

I don't think moore will be that bad.

Bizarre, it's actually an interesting article. Did someone ghost-write it for him?

What he wrote about there is the same stuff he's said several times before in his book (particularly "Dude, Where's My Country") and in interviews.

The thing that confused me was that it's civil, which his movies aren't. Guess he has a different writing voice.

It's not really about the convention, though, or about anything in particular other than the somewhat obvious fact that most people are not political stereotypes. Maybe he needs to be less civil, and more specific. Something about the actual convention would have made for more interesting reading.
