What the shit? He basically says 'feel free to download the demo and crack it so you don't have to pay!' ... If I was a publisher I I'd get my game reviewed by those guys! How reponsible! And that 'we don't need no poofs in our game' comment, yeehaw.. paint my neck red and call me Bobby Joe!

There aren't any homosexual relationships in that game.

Actually there are, you can have two male or two female roommates. At least you could in the European version. Would be interesting in and of itself if that was removed for the American version.

I played the Euro version. Maybe I just didn't try, but I thought that there wasn't any hot man on man action.

and hey, HOW DO YOU KNOW SO MUCH ABOUT THAT LUM!?!?!

Probably for the same reason the porn industry has many more female actors than males.

I find it amusing that a reviewer who complains about the game's pure, unadulterated “if it feels good, do it” mantra is photographed with a Playboy bunny.

And he's the managing editor, whatever that means.

It's good to see a website that dares to take a stand on game distribution.

(One of the minuses is "Distributed Poorly," which I assume is referring to its distribution in stores and online, and not to some gameplay convention of which I'm unaware.)

In the body of the review he complains about the lack of serious age verification on a lot of the websites hosting the download. This is probably what he means in the summary comments.

Of course, this comes after a paragraph where he takes a stand on the lack of contraceptives in the game.

Yeah.... what a ridiculously inappropriate thing to put in a review.

Also - The reviewer is worried underage kids will download this to look at polygon genitals? He's not terribly familiar with the Internet, is he?

He looks exactly as charming as that "homo relationships" quote makes him sound.

Apologize for what? Having an the proper opinion about social politcial correctness gone amuck?

A review is partly made up of a reviewers opinion about the game or particular content within the game. I, for one, find the idea of a homosexual (Can you say Butt-pirate?) relationship VERY offensive... Nothing more messed up than using your "johnson" as an oil dip-stick...

Great site. Ugh.

Clearly, the distribution of Singles has to stop. We really must make a stand here or else people downloading images of sexual activity on the Internet might become commonplace!

What a sadly predictable thread. A reviewer says he doesn't want homosexual relationships in a soft porn game, which is a 100% relevant statement of personal opinion given the game's subject matter, and the Q23 PC squad starts weeping uncontrollably. Someone in the world actually doesn't share your preferences... get over it.

Of course that's an optional type of relationship, so he's criticizing a feature that he never has to experience. In other words, he--and by extension you--is arguing for fewer features and less flexibility in a game design. Yay for giving players fewer choices.

It's a really empty piece of criticism though. You decide at the beginning of the game which two people you are going to make fuck. The game doesn't shanghai you into butt piracy like some sort of machine language homo press gang.

The summary points are somewhat akin to saying that Civ III is this, this, and this, and I don't like that you can play as the Swedes. It's just stupid.

Maybe the reviewer merely wants to point out that a play for bath Guys cannot make fun. Such a thing would not sell itself also.

Would you say the same thing if he said "interracial relationships have got to go!"?

There's nothing weepy about, it marks this guy as a moron (well, this, along with the rest of his site). Seems like he (and maybe you?) is the one getting bent out of shape about people's preferences.

Someone already mentioned it, but it bears repeating - it's an aspect of the game YOU never need to experience. In fact, since it's a dating simulation, I imagine you need to actively encourage any homosexual behavior between the virtual people. And if this behavior offends you, why are you doing it? It's not called "Singles - the Hetero Dating Sim"

edit: and by "you", I mean the reviewer/player

The "homo relationships gotta go" comment wasn't too bad, but the "butt pirate" comment in their forums was. I mean yeah he can say what he likes in his review, but as a "professional writer" he ought to be a little more eloquent. Even on the internet.

Well, if flexibility and open-endedness are the absolute be-all and end-all in games, then why stop with mere homosexual perversion? Why not allow the player to fuck his dog and marry it and whatnot as well? That, evidently, according to your rule, would make it a better game.

Just to make the point more forcefully: how about letting the player gas his Jewish neighbors, or enslave that darkie couple down the street and make them pick cotton? I mean, a game that offered these things would be flexible indeed and filled with choices, would it not? Wouldn't it therefore be a better (and one must presume "more fun") game, according to your criteria?

It's a nice touch that the guy whose name is a wordplay on rimjob is a homophobe getting his panties in a bunch about "perversion".

Nice strawman there, muttbunch. Homosexuality discussed as equivalent to gassing Jewish neighbors and bestiality.

You think there's a market for a game like that? Homo Tycoon, perhaps?

I think the important thing is that having "homo" relationships means we can get the simulated polygonal girl-girl action we afficionados of the female form most crave.

A game with that much flexibility would be really cool.

Especially if it also had girl-girl action.
