View Full Version : Chiming in a bit late

Yes it's awesome. No its not a disappointment.
My only beefs so far are that 1: people in the City are realy easy to freak out. Shooting an arrow at one of the rust mites has the guards down on me.
The other bigger one is that its not always made clear what the "Special Treasure" is. Oftentimes there'll be mention of it in level, but sometimes not and then the game becomes real tedious.
MINOR SPOILERS (not plot related)
On the Citadel last night I found one of the treasures easily enough - it was a horn. Easily found because 1) it's on a damned pedastal in a room by itself and 2) there's a journal lying around left by someone who lost it mentioning the general area it was found.
The other two had me searching for an hour before I gave up and went to the gamefaqs message boards. It turns out one of them was a gem stuck in the wall - except there are *tons* of gems stuck in the wall, and unless I knew to look for this one I wouldn't have even thought twice about it. The third was a tapestry - but once again, there are tons of tapestries, this one is in a corner with nothing to call attention to itself. What am I supposed to do, randomly walk around checking every feature in the game that's not literally a part of the level geometry?
Seriously though much as I'm bitching its a minor quibble.

No, wait, I change my mind - I think he's talking about Q*Bert.
I think he's talking about Pong.
You idiot. All that talk about gems--he's obviously talking about Conan! for the Apple 2e.

I think it's Thief 3.
Could be MS Word, though.

**Thief 3: Deadly Spoilers**
I had problems finding those last 2 special items in Citadel too. The crystal I had noticed earlier, and it's colored differently to draw attention to it, but I wasn't sure it was loot and there were guys near it that I didn't feel like bothering with.
The tapestry was just poorly placed, way out in the middle of nowhere around a corner, in a niche. I think there's a parchment about the tapestry lying around somewhere, though.
Other than that I've only had trouble trying to find one other piece of special loot hidden early in the Clocktower. (Hint: If you're looking for a certain gear, it's high up on the wall in room where you start the mission with the 2 pendulums).

You do find a note indicating that there are special diamonds in the Theater area so there is a tipoff. I never found anything hinting at the tapestry though.

No no no, clearly he's talking about Ultima: Worlds of Adventure 2: Martian Dreams (http://www.mobygames.com/game/sheet/gameId,1625/).
